Rafferty's resort on Lake Macquarie is a great place to spend a few days. The accommodation is self catering so be prepared with your own goodies.

There is also a small Thai restaurant in the complex which is open most evenings. It is adequate but nothing special and totally lacking in atmosphere. You probably wouldn't want to have more than one meal here.
