Himalayan Journey

Our journey to the Himalaya's which took in Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet and the Golden Triangle of India was researched on the internet visiting dozens of sites and obtaining various quotations from a variety of travel/tour companies. Our travel policy is to use local operators wherever possible and also to be independent of tour groups. The odd tour here and there in the company of fellow travellers is not a problem for us as we have met some interesting people from time to time. We also like to choose our own hotels and prefer to book these direct with the establishment concerned. We find that we usually get a better deal this way and payment is generally on arrival or checkout. No lost deposits if we have to change plans.

We found an excellent tour operator in Kathmandu who was able to meet our criteria and as it turned out worked out a very flexible programme for us which we were able to fine tune once we arrived in Kathmandu.
The company we used was Nature Trail Travels and Tours who specialise in this region. They are a company that is committed to the people of the region and they engage in social and welfare programmes as well as sustainable development.
They cover all aspects of the region whether it's cultural touring, trekking, or adventure, small groups or large.
They have a good web site http://www.naturetrailnepal.com/ Contact them if you need info or feel free to make contact via this blog as we have an association with them.
